Glacier Park

Sight 1

Glacier Park

冰川公园

Glacier Park is located on the northeastern slope of Shanzidou, the main peak of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, making it the highest tourist area within the scenic region. The park boasts well-preserved modern glacial landforms, featuring spectacular sights such as glacier tongues, ice tower forests, and glacial crevasses. After taking the large cable car to the top, visitors can walk along the wooden boardwalk to observe the glacier up close and experience the majestic grandeur of the alpine snowfields and ice. The air here is thin and crisp, and visitors often stop to take photos, soaking in the unique atmosphere of being above the glacier. Please be mindful of altitude sickness and walk slowly.

Blue Moon Valley

Sight 2

Blue Moon Valley

蓝月谷

Blue Moon Valley. Nestled at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Blue Moon Valley earns its name from the crystal-clear, azure waters of its lakes. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the lake water shifts in hue with the changing light, appearing like sapphires set within the canyon. Strolling along the boardwalk, visitors can admire travertine terraces reminiscent of Baishui Terrace, cascading waterfalls, and pristine forests. At this high altitude, the air is crisp and fresh, making it an ideal spot to experience the natural beauty of the plateau. It is recommended to set aside ample time to explore at a leisurely pace.

Ganhaizi Meadow

Sight 3

Ganhaizi Meadow

甘海子

Ganhaizi. Ganhaizi is an alpine meadow at the eastern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and an excellent spot for panoramic views of the snow mountain. With its wide, open视野, the scenery changes with each season: the meadow greens in spring, wildflowers blanket the ground in summer, golden hues dominate autumn, and a silver-white cloak covers everything in winter. Visitors can gaze at the thirteen peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar, experiencing the serenity and grandeur of the highlands. As a transit point for scenic spots like Spruce Meadow and Yak Meadow, Ganhaizi also serves as a starting point for experiencing Naxi traditional culture and horseback riding. Admission is free, making it ideal for a light trip. Visitors are advised to bring sunscreen and be mindful of altitude sickness.

Sight 4

Spruce Meadow

云杉坪

Yunshanping (Spruce Meadow). Nestled at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Yunshanping is an alpine meadow surrounded by dense spruce forests, resembling a hidden green carpet in a secret realm. Renowned for its tranquil snow-mountain backdrop and pristine forest scenery, it is an ideal spot to admire the main peak of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and experience traditional Naxi culture. Visitors can take a cable car to reach the meadow and stroll along the boardwalk to savor the vastness and purity of the highland grasslands. In autumn and winter, the meadow gradually turns golden, creating a poetic contrast with the snow-clad peaks.

Yak Meadow

Sight 5

牦牛坪

Yak Meadow. Yak Meadow is a highland meadow within the Yulong Snow Mountain scenic area, sitting at an elevation of about 3,800 meters. It is known for its expansive pasture views and close-up vistas of the main snow-capped peak. The scenery changes with the seasons—lush green grass in spring and summer, and snow-blanketed plains in autumn and winter—while herds of yaks wander leisurely, evoking a rich Tibetan atmosphere. Visitors can take a cable car to reach the meadow, then stroll along wooden boardwalks to take in the magnificent tapestry of snow mountains, meadows, and forests.
